Waldo Klein, Ph.D., MSW
Dr. Klein is a Professor at the University of Connecticut School of Social Work where he teaches in gerontology and social research methods. He has published books and articles widely and has written on and long-term care. His book (With Martin Bloom), Successful Strategies for Healthy Living, deals with opportunities for primary prevention in the aging of mature and older adults. Dr Klein is involved in many not-for-profit community activities that support his teaching and ongoing research interests. He has also served on a state-wide task force to address the needs of nursing home residents who present challenging and aggressive behaviors, and he is a member and treasurer of the Connecticut Commission on Aging.

Michael J. Lenkiewicz
Michael Lenkiewicz has more than 20 years of experience as a financial executive and consultant serving the health care industry. He is Chief Financial Officer of VNA Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Saint Raphael Healthcare System. In addition to his financial executive positions, he was a senior manager with Ernst & Young, LLP and was recognized as one of the firm’s leading health care professionals in the area of financial planning and market assessment. Mr. Lenkiewicz is a graduate of Georgetown University with a degree in finance and he completed his graduate degree in accounting at the University of Maryland.

Julie Thompson Robison, Ph.D.
Julie Robison is an Assistant Professor at the Center on Aging at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Her research interests include aging families, long term care, dementia care, depression and mental health among ethnic minorities. Julie completed her Ph.D. at Cornell University followed by a post-doctoral fellowship in the epidemiology of aging at the Yale School of Medicine. She has served as principal investigator or co-principal investigator on several dozen funded research projects and has published over 35 scientific articles and chapters of books. Julie regularly presents research findings in national and community forums on aging and long-term care. Currently, she is principal investigator for a research study funded by the Connecticut State Legislature, “An Assessment of Connecticut Residents’ Long-Term Care Needs and Adequacy of the Present LTC System”.

Alan P. Siegal, MD
Past President
Dr. Seigal received his degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1979. He completed his internship at Norwalk Hospital and his residency in psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Seigal is a former Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar and is currently Director of Geriatric and Adult Psychiatry, LLC. He is also an Associate Clinical Professor in the department of psychiatry at Yale University. Dr. Seigal is past president of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry and is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences on Geriatric Psychiatry and Alzheimer’s disease. Marsha Goldstein, M.A.
Marsha Goldstein has a Master of Arts degree in Community Psychology from Central Connecticut State University. For more than 20 years, she worked in a non-profit job training center providing creative solutions that ensured successful job placement opportunities for students. In addition, Marsha was a divorce mediator for many years, offering divorcing couples a gentle and less adversarial option to ending their marriage.
Her tenure on the Board of Directors began in 2003 and she has worked to expand the Center’s programs in dementia care training, education and community services.
As a community activist in the fight against Breast Cancer, Marsha continues her involvement as a Board member of the Connecticut Breast Health Initiative, Inc. She has co-chaired the Initiative’s Grants Committee and is a key organizer of the annual Mother's Day weekend event, Race In the Park, that attracts thousands of participants to Walnut Hill Park in New Britain. Marsha’s volunteer leadership has made this event a tremendously successful fund raising program for the Breast Health Initiative.
